Ritual was discovered right before Ezra era during a Chaos Insurgency fight. The Insurgency was using it to summon war gods, and put Sekhmet into a stolen Foundation mecha. AWD fights the mecha, captures Sekhmet and locks her up, and takes the ritual for themselves.

Ezra uses it for a bit, fails to make anything of worth outside of Klymene. Shelved until Day, new run with Klymene and Farhat. Ends with Athena being produced. Focus a lot more on Athena becoming a member of AWD

needs a better ending than just Athena joining AWD. Something showing the impact her presence has.

need to come up with a list of gods i want referenced, i also want it to be more than just they try to summon and it fails. some more hijinks happen. maybe another god is summoned before Athena and they keep them around even though they're not useful at all

could also use gods to show difference between eras. Ezra's run just summons whatever with no clear focus in what gods they're summoning, while Day's run goes for gods that could be related to weaponry, war, strategy, etc

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Roots Rewrite

It doesn't really do anything with the character beyond introducing a wife who herself also doesn't really do anything. Reply Options Fold TopDownUnderTopDownUnder Nora has been a part of AW's lore since SCP-300 Reply Options Fold VuMinhNgocVuMinhNgoc Seconding this Reply Options Fold orangeninja27orangeninja27 Nothing inherently bad with this, but it's too short and it doesn't really… justify itself, I suppose? It just kind of exists and does a thing. It's a great concept, but feels more like an Anomalous Object than a full-on SCP, at least in its current state. Novote. Reply Options Fold Dr AngellDr Angell I love the premise of this, but I can’t help but feel like it’s missing something. “We can see the beauty of the world, even if it can't see ours,” is such a poignant queer message, and the telescope only seeing various shots of the Earth from different angles on the moon is clever, but the item is simply doing what is on the inscription. It’s repeating itself, rather than expanding. Just adding a small detail that goes beyond the stated theme would take this from good to great. Reply Options Fold -1, gently froghopperfroghopper 1) You are not even close to the threshold where increasing the amount of "stuff" in an article detracts from it. 2) In my opinion, ultra-shortposts work if they leave something haunting around the reader, which extends and complicates the experience of the article. Your article's concept is wistful, warm, and most importantly resolved—-being of love long done. This contributes to the feeling-small of it. That being said, what this article does have is great. I found it pleasant to read and am likely partially voting this way because I am disappointed that it ended. Reply Options Fold -1 Jamz9245Jamz9245 For me this simply doesn't have enough substance. You're trying to get us attached to the characters without actually telling us anything about them, or linking their lives to the skip itself. It feels underdone and overly vague. Reply Options Fold +1 WynthsWynths i think it's okay to just say that the world is beautiful without further expanding on it Reply Options Fold IcePhoenix44IcePhoenix44 I downvoted this a while back, but thought there are potential in this article so I decided to put a comment here. Like Dr Angell said, the message is very poignant and nice, however, it is literally explained to the reader by a "note at the end" which is one of my pet peeves in articles. I also do think the effect of the telescope could have a stronger link with the message, especially about the part of how the world can't see the beauty of queer people. Maybe from the perspective of a meteorite, or smth frequently neglected I don't know. The moon is like a really big symbol of love across the world and I don't think it fits the criteria of something the world cannot see the beauty of. luodekaerluodekaer 25 Jun 2026, 22:49 This article kind of stops suddenly. It feels shallow and could use more substance. Reply Options Fold MerehrabMerehrab 26 Jun 2026, 12:26 Surprised this is still in the positive digits and barely clinging onto life. Honestly, I think you need to go back to the drawing board with this one. It's definitely missing some depth in order to get its theme across. It's got a poignant message, but nothing is done with that message other than simply stating it without actually putting the effort in to make such a message feel evocative and emotionally resonating. And I'm especially disappointed that you included a deep cut character on the wiki, Professor AW, and then you don't even do anything with that character other than have her be a lesbian. "What if the professor was a lesbian" is in fact the most depth that this article ever gives in execution. I don't think it's worth letting this stay up in its current state IMO.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: "A World Away"

Sad yuri, workaholic. Akabi and Farhat's relationship strains, but they still love eachother. Cast doubt on AWD and Day. Bounce between therapy session and actual SCP file. Way to interject Akabi remembering their relationship.
An SCP where a thaumic parasite latches onto a member of AWD's Occult Studies Division (Dr. Farhat al-Halaby) and AWD uses it as a weapon, at the expense of its host

Dr. Farhat al-Halaby: Foundation thaumaturgist. Farhat has had a relatively mundane career at the Foundation — no major successes or failures to report. Originally a member of the Applied Thaumatology Department, she worked as a consult for other departments, namely AWD's Occult Studies division. Following the re-opening of AWD, she was approached by Jimmy Day and invited to join the new Department. She happily accepted, despite her wife's protests. Even though she's been with the Foundation for well over a decade now, she still feels fresh to everything, and is more than eager to prove herself.

Director Jimmy Day: The current Director of AWD. Jimmy is shrouded in mystery. He's been with the Foundation for a long time, longer than his appearance would let on. There are records of him having worked in other Departments, such as the Applied Force Department and Archival Department, but no one in these departments can recall having ever worked with him. Still, he was handpicked by both the O5 Council and the Ethics Committee to revitalize AWD, and he's been doing a good job at that. Jimmy is generally overly friendly and positive, doing his best to make time to socialize with his staff.

Dr. Akabi Hayk: Foundation therapist, parapsychologist, and psychiatrist. Hayk serves many roles at the Foundation, but her main concern is the mental wellbeing of both its staff and prisoners. She was Ezra's personal therapist during his time as Director, and did her best to try and steer him from the path he followed. After his disappearance, Akabi moved to Site-225 until Jimmy restarted AWD. She didn't want to return to Area-34, already knowing how stressful it would be, but one major thing forced her: her wife. Marrying Farhat was easily the best thing she'd ever done in her life, even if her family back home didn't fully agree. She was a little upset when Farhat accepted the invitation to join AWD, but at least they got a nice apartment in a nearby city. Akabi puts on a nice face with everyone at AWD, but she harbors a deep distrust for Jimmy.

Summary: Pearl Neptunia Langstrum (She/Her) is generally professional but will be a little autistic goober at any given opportunity. She primarily works as the therapist at Site-3. She's 6'5 btw. She a tall gal.
While she's primarily a therapist, she can be used in pretty much anything since she has ALOT of free time.
Birthday: February 12th
Favourite Song: "American Dream Come True" by Moon Walker
Favourite Food: Waffles
Favourite Colour: Pink / Blue
Favourite Location: Anglesey, Wales
Favourite Subject: Psychology
Favourite Person(s): Her girlfriends

XXXX is a semi-non-corporeal entity that feeds on EVE (magic energy) (EVE is the fundamental energy that powers thaumatology. What EVE is, we are still trying to understand. It appears to be somehow linked to the Observer Effect directly. It has been described as 'life energy,' or 'magical particles,' but such terms are gross oversimplifications. If you are interested in the more esoteric aspects of EVE theory, you will find some recommended reading in your seminar syllabus. But for now, I will simply discuss the aspects of EVE that are pertinent to a Coalition field agent.

"EVE is emitted by living things. It is also often emitted by paranormal objects. EVE emission is not a perfect indication of whether or not a person or object has paranormal properties, but often, that is the case. Higher and more intense levels of EVE are generated by beings with higher levels of sapience: their Observer Effect is stronger, thus their EVE levels are stronger as well. Humans over Animals, Animals over Plants.). XXXX is visible only by potent thaumaturges or Etheric Resonance Imagery (ERI). Like all ERI devices, VERITAS functions by detecting the distinctive Aetheric Energy Fields (AEF), or Elan Vital Energy (EVE) given off by living creatures during the course of normal life functions. By measuring the wavelengths and intensity of these energy fields, information regarding the nature of the life form, its mental and physical state, and any paranormal alterations can be determined.

The Foundation knew vaguely about XXXX before this event, but didn't know if it ever/still existed and how to contain it. Hence why they're so surprised when it's attracted by the weapon testing and it attaching to Farhat.

need to figure out class. Keter? Hera (Item is hostile but very useful to the Foundation.)?
start with therapy log. pearl asks if akabi hayk is ready, Akabi remarks that she hasn't been on this side of the chair in a long time. pearl asks akabi to tell her what the session is for, just so it's on the record. Segue to flop header, conprocs, and description. discovery/Farhat al-Halaby incident addendum too. AWD is doing some unrelated tests on a thaumaturgic weapon, it attracts XXXX, which attaches itself to Farhat. then back to therapy, where pearl asks if it's about hayk's wife. They talk about their relationship before XXXX, then cut to addenda about farhat's history at the Foundation, then a debrief with her shortly after the incident (like within hours). Therapy about immediate impact of the incident on their relationship, then testing/dialogue logs. Jimmy takes interest in Farhat and XXXX, which leads Farhat to pushing her limits and hiding how badly XXXX is affecting her. Akabi notices, cause of course, and this leads to strain on their relationship. Akabi pleads for Farhat to get a better grip on XXXX or find a way to detach it from herself, but Farhat refuses, claiming that this is the first time she's been able to do something meaningful at the Foundation, to prove her worth beyond what's essentially a magic repairwomen. Farhat sees Akabi as jealous of her newfound importance, as Akabi's the one who was always in the spotlight (SCP-6776, SCP-7018, etc). Maybe XXXX is influencing her slightly to want to keep it?

Only issue I have now is figuring out the ending and how to bridge that gap. Akabi and Farhat stay together, even if the marriage is very tense now, Farhat stays alive with XXXX attached to her. Maybe it could end on the last bit of the therapy log where Pearl asks Akabi if she still loves Farhat, and Akabi says "Of course." Also need to find somewhere in the middle for Akabi to talk about how her and Farhat met (need to rewrite it so it's from her POV/she's the one telling it to Pearl):

It was a Foundation Conference. Akabi had been sent as a representative of the Parapsychology's European Branch. Despite that, she wasn't the best at English. She had assumed French would be the lingua franca, but she should've expected more from an organization originating in the States. Still, she knew just enough of the language to survive.

It was after all the main presentations. Akabi was eating alone in Site-19's mess hall. Despite being well-known back home, she knew no one here. She had assumed this would be the case, but she hadn't prepared for how awful it would feel. Still—

A tap on her shoulder. Akabi turned, seeing an unfamiliar face. She had been one of the presenters. Akabi glanced down at her name tag. 'Dr. Farhat al-Halaby.' Department of Thaumaturgy.

"Do you mind if I join you?" She asked, holding up her plate.

"Um," Akabi stammered. "Më vjen keq—" No, try at least a little. "Sorry, my English is not the best."

Farhat shrugged and sat down anyways. "That's okay. I am not good at English either. We're the same-same."

Akabi laughed softly, a faint blush creeping on her cheek. Farhat smiled at this, reaching over to nudge her. "Vous parlez français?"

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Awd Parasite

Bellerverse tale! I mean, Chaos On The Monolith tale! Err, CODENAME: Green King tale? Wait, Greg tale? …all of the above?

This was originally supposed to be just a crossover between Green King and Bellerverse, but then Greg and something else wormed their way in there. This was also just supposed to be a single tale, but it quickly spiraled out of control. I already have the second part halfway done, so this won't end up like my other Tale series, I promise!

Thank you, as always, to my amazing critters:

vilsolad

shameless plug

As always with Bellerverse tales, there's some references here to SCPs. In the spirit of the older Bellerverse tales, I haven't linked any of them. Two of them are very obvious, two are not. I'll send $5 - $5 to whoever finds it first.

Suggested Tags:

_image _licensebox adventure bellerverse chaos-on-the-monolith green-king only-game-in-town post-apocalyptic tale

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: The Bird, The Witch and The Scribe

A fake town that multiple people remember. When they get together the idea of the town becomes more solidified as they further disregard the present. They become unable to distinguish this fake town from reality, refusing to accept anything that doesn't fit in it. Eventually people who get so far in the dream "return home," running into the woods or empty fields where they vanish.

Meant to be a metaphor for how fascism/conservativism uses nostalgia for propaganda "the good old days"

Horse a with no name

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Nostalgia is The Mind-Killer

This is an attempt at an SCP set in the Bellerverse canon. If you haven't read the canon, all you really need to know is that it takes place 4,000 years after a massive apocalypse that wiped out the majority of the world, most of the Foundation included. It's very much a fantasy Dying Earth setting. My main concerns are:

1. Does this work as an SCP?
2. Do you get enough of an idea of what The Red Chamber is/what's in it? ||Is there enough to allude to a Pattern Screamer?||
3. Is the Final Accord too heavy-handed?
4. Is the tone consistent?
5. Is the formatting alright?

http://lspr.wikidot.com/topbeller

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: THE RED CHAMBER ACCORDS

Loses?
if you lose, nothing happens, but if you win you just vanish. poof.
What's the actual story here? What happens in the article beyond describing the above?
maybe when Foundation was formed, ullamaliztli was grandfathered in from some precursor group? (Buscadores -> Spanish (Mexican?) Group -> Foundation) and they just kept the ball rolling. maybe at first they tried experimenting with ways to make it easier/stop it all together but it just made things worse so they kept it the same?
Ok, origin story: The game started when a couple of people in pre-Colombus Mesoamerica were playing a pick-up game of ullamaliztli. They were playing so good (or maybe they were just in the right spot) that they drew the attention of underworld gods (One Death and Seven Death). they had just lost a game of ullamaliztli to the Hero Twins and were grumpy about it. so they cursed this specific game to be be the anchor for local reality. the people thought they were just messing around at first, until an hour after they finished the game they noticed stuff going wrong. so they picked the game back up (the specific ax they use to outline the makeshift court is what triggers the game) and keep it going, the local community taking turns in the game to make sure reality keeps going. once the Conquest begins, the Buscadores attempt to suppress the game, until they notice the same thing, so they allow the natives to continue. so on and so on until the Foundation picks it up. but that's just backstory, what's going on in present day?
I could go with a theme that "The modern world no longer knows how to maintain sacred things?" ??? idk. Maybe natural stuff prolonged the game (human exhaustion, injuries, weather, bad gameplay, etc) but the Foundation has been, for lack of a better term, min-maxxing the game and that's resulting in it losing its potency? One Death and Seven Death are mad that the game is losing its spirit so they're making the game less effective. idk

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Topsport

This is an attempt at an SCP set in the Bellerverse canon! My original plan was to have something a lot closer to the typical SCP format, but I figured something like this would fit the canon a whole lot better. The format was partially inspired by those reddit horror stories that are just a list of rules.

+ spoilers

- unspoilers

If you're confused on what's going on with the Red Chamber, Venmo me $20 and I'll tell you. We got the Containment Procedures, a Description, an Incident Log, and even that last stinger Addendum!

"But what about the Object Class?!?!"

Object Class Schbject Class. That's like the least important part of an SCP.
tale set around when felipe dies, explaining why this Costa Rican family has the last name Everest. will need to rewrite Alex's character profile, cause I want her to appear her with ezra explaining to here the name.

Would be 1st person POV from Alex. She's talking with someone at Site-Σ who asked about when she last saw her brother. Whole tale is her remembering the funeral, with the framing of the Site-Sigma convo. During Felipe's funeral, her and Ezra stepped aside to get some fresh air. While together, Alex asks Ezra about their last name, and he tells her the story behind it:

Their grandfather, Felipe's father, was a poor farmer in southern Costa Rica. He wasn't well educated beyond agriculture, but he was very interested in geography. One of his most prized possessions, beyond his children, was an old geography book that he would read every night. One of his most favorite topics was Mount Everest, as he found the idea of the largest mountain fascinating. He would always tell Felipe facts about it. That was the seed for Felipe's admiration of the mountain and the idea to change the family name to it. The original family name was Zamora.

Grandfather admired Everest because it represented the unimaginable: this unbelievably giant mountain a whole planet away from his small farm.
Felipe adopted the name cause it represented striving upwards (the 1953 climb would've happened when he was young)
Ezra inherits it as an obligation
Alex inherits it as a ghost

Felipe would've kept that geography book, and gave it to Ezra. Ezra might've given it to Alex here. It'd be more than 50 years old at that point. Worn pages, cracked spine, annotations from abuelo.

Alexandria isn't really in touch with her emotions, and I want the narration to reflect that. She focuses on the wrong things, remembers little details instead of the big picture. She didn't understand the importance of this conversation at the time. She didn't listen carefully enough, didn't ask follow-up questions. Ezra was trying to reach out to her here, but she didn't pick up on that. He was already unraveling here, and she hadn't the faintest idea.

Layout:

Walking at Sigma with a coworker (ask badooga for recommendations? this role isn't really important) (badooga brought up that site-sigma has outside walking areas with plants and whatnot, that makes for some good set dressing) (badooga also brought up that Tactical Math has its own quadrant of the building, so one way to include that alex avoids tactical math because of its ties to AWD organically is "let's take a different route, I don't want to walk in the Tactical Math area") and they bring up Ezra. they ask Alex about him, and she brings this up.

When Felipe died, Alex traveled down to Costa Rica to attend the funeral. She talks about the mountain road, the humid air, an old family house, and relatives that she barely knows. She feels like an outsider in her family. Not because she's been shunned by them or anything, even after she started her transition (they take every opportunity to reach out to her), she's just emotionally distanced herself from all of them.

She talks about the funeral/wake. No crying scenes! Relatives sharing stories, "Felipito," coworkers from AWD whispering amongst themselves. First real mention of Ezra, Alex remembers seeing him look overwhelmed and failing to hide it. She keeps watching him without interacting with him. Throw away line here about their youngest brother, Matias, not being at the funeral due to being tied up with work at Site-3.

Then she spots the geography book on a shelf, open to the Everest page. Some aunt or uncle talks about how Felipe fought with them to keep it after abuelo passed, and this piques her interest.

Ezra leaves the gathering. Catch some air, smoke? I don't think Ezra would smoke. Maybe AWD people keep bugging him? Alex follows him outside on accident, not really meaning to. Neither planned to talk with each other or meet out there, and yet.

They have some small talk. It's awkward, they haven't spoken or seen each other in years. They talk about travel, the funeral, their work at the Foundation, and how long Alex plans to stay. I want it to feel like two people trying to remember how to be siblings.

Eventually, Alex brings up the last name. Why Everest?

Ezra explains the story. Recounts what I said above. Abuelo fascinated with geography, faraway mountain. Always told Felipe about it and how one day they would climb it. Abuelo never saw snow, never traveled, never climbed anything outside of the local mountains, but Everest captivated him anyways.

Felipe used the name as a nickname in university. He started using it on papers, then professionally, eventually permanently. "“He said Zamora sounded like where we came from. Everest sounded like where he wanted to go.”

Alex asked if Felipe really believed all that. Ezra says something along lines of "he wanted to." This needs to be a banger line.

Alex cautiously asks Ezra about AWD. Ezra's already stressed. Being Director is hitting him hard, especially right after Felipe's death. Hint at him self-isolating and becoming paranoid. He's incapable of separating himself from the Department. He needs to sound tired here, not villainous like he is later on.

Alex admits she stayed away from AWD on purpose. Not because she hated Felipe or Ezra, but because she was scared of what it did to them. She was scared of being consumed by that same gravity. Ezra doesn't argue with this. Maybe he just doesn't say anything at all?

I want some final, concerning line from Ezra. He shows some vulnerability, something that strikes Alex as out-of-character for him. In retrospect, at least. In the moment, she brushes it off, and heads back inside.

And then we return to the present for the ending, which is… Idk

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: To Name A Mountain

head of the feather serpent. Perhaps there was more, but it was destroyed or lost. It was originally in the Yucatan, then by some way brought to a Foundation site. The head is kinda sapient, barely capable of speech. The Foundation tries to find a way to use it, maybe as an interrogation tool. there's some minor success, as it can sorta access people's minds, but not enough to satisfy the foundation. so they just lock it up and ignore it, despite occassionally hearing it moan or vocalize in distress

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: S0

This is a very very rough draft about three bugs that blow up. 3.6k words, ~13min read. I'd been working on this draft on and off for the past 5 months. I'd written each section out of order, so I feel very iffy on it. Please be as harsh on this draft as you want! Here's some guiding questions:

1. Do the bugs feel enough like their own character?
2. ^ with Shing, Day, and Tina
3. Does the progression make sense?
4. Is the ending good enough? That's the issue I was struggling with the most (and what I was fighting with for most of those 5 months)
5. Do you feel like you need to read the previous tale to understand this SCP? I tried my best to make it work independently, but the emails might rely a bit much on them
6. Is the talk between Day and Shing at the end too much?

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: TRIPLE BUG ATTACK

Dr. Cole Thereven sits at his desk. His chair is turnt around, his gaze laying on a photo of his wife and child. A tear sits on his cheek, a wet trail connecting it to his eye.

Dr. Azariah Varioli is emerging from a large tank of water. Droplets float in the air, radiating from where she breached the water's surface. Director Edward Irkiv is stepping into the room, dried tears staining his face. In his hand is a printed-out memo from Site-01.

Jay stands in the doorway to their house, mid-stride. Ilse and James are running to her. A look of horror blemishes their faces. Frozen, safe for their eyes, looking around frantically before meeting eachother. Ilse can barely make out her son through the tear caught in her eye.

SCP-682 is in the air, pouncing on an unsuspecting golden retriever.
[[include :scp-wiki:theme:basalt darkmode=a|]]

The Foundation discovers that time is finite (is space finite too?), and is running out quick. When it does, we'll all just be stuck. Time runs on chronon, which, will finite, was functionally infinite so it wouldn't be an issue. But several companies and elites had discovered how to access chronon and, unbeknownst to anyone else behind the Veil, had used it to fuel giant machines that would accelerate time within a chamber, allowing for longer R&D in the same time frame or just recreation. This unregulated use of chronon led to a massive lost of it, resulting in 2047 being the year it will all run out. The Foundation is scrambling to figure out which companies made these devices, how to destroy them to maybe buy humanity more time, and maybe create artificial chronon. The Foundation destroys the devices too late, and can't create enough chronon to make a difference. Time crawls to a halt, and everyone is stuck concious in a static universe.

we have a couple of options for themes. dark mode basalt, timepiece, or turbovision dark. i def want a dark mode theme, cause duh, but idk which one yet. i'm leaning to basalt but we will see

Special Containment Procedures: Keep civilian discovery of SCP_001 under wraps, investigate SCP-001-A and obtain access to SCP-001-B or a design of it.

Description: SCP-001 is the passage of time, the driving force of which is a particle called chronon.

SCP-001-A is the sudden and continuing disappearance of chronon, resulting in the end of time being a reality and rapidly approaching.

SCP-001-B is one or more machines that are harvesting chrono and using it up. The Foundation becomes aware of them either from witnessing one in the act or from deduction.

Addendum.XXXX.1: Discovery of SCP-001-B and Repercussions

Foundation discovers the loss of chronon in 2025 when a department of temporal anomalies operation fails. something simple, like a quick time jump.

Foundation explains what the complete loss of chronon would mean. Year where chronon is projected to run out is 2047 (would this work better as a transcript from a talk from someone?)

Addendum.XXXX.2: Theory

Theories as to why chronon is running out. None of them point to the right direction, until they pick up on something that hints at SCP-001-B.

Addendum.XXXX.3: Culprit

The great hunt for SCP-001-B. They keep finding hints towards elites being the people behind it. Eventually, this is confirmed when, during an unrelated raid, a machine harvesting and using chronon is discovered in the basement of Sam Altman's mansion in 2036.

Addendum.XXXX.4: Recovered Materials

More details on SCP-001-B, with portions of documents recovered from Sam Altman and other raided elites and companies. Shows what they were using SCP-001-B for: They served as time capsules, where time went slower within them than outside. A person could live out a whole life in there than come back outside completely unaged. They used the time chambers for R&D and testing at first, but eventually most of them just used it for recreation. Our future was stolen, consumed, and discarded.

Addendum.XXXX.5: Global Raids

The Foundation begins global raids against multiple companies and elites to try and capture or destroy as many SCP-001-B instances as possible. Partial successes, many failures. Most of the devices are too large to shut down safely or in a reasonable time frame.

Addendum.XXXX.6: Artifical Chronon

The Foundation tries to synthesize their own artifical chronon, SCP-001-C, by any means necessary. They use particle colliders, casualty loops, other SCP objects, but nothing work. Towards the very end, they manage to find a successful way to do it, but they aren't capable of producing it fast enough to outweigh the decay. Someone suggests using the SCP-001-B instances to quicken production, but the consumption of chronon by -B would drastically outweigh the production of -C

Addendum.XXXX.7: Temporal Degradation

As the Foundation enters the 2040s, the degradation of time is becoming more and more apparent in everyday life. Clocks desync, chemical reactions slow down, people notice lag in motion, audio delays in speech. Even civilians begin reporting this, to the point that it's infeasible to amnesticize them all. The Foundation doesn't even bother enacting the Ennui Protocol.

Addendum.XXXX.8: [INCOMPLETE SUBMISSION]

An incomplete Addendum. Halfway through writing, time finally grinds to a halt. Sentences left uncompleted, words half-formed. Thoughts stuck in minds, bodies unable to move. Maybe convert to a narrative format describing scenes in this time-frozen world? Or maybe interperse those scenes amongst the article (like inbetween addenda), with a final big one right at the end? maybe, maybe

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: T.
The intent of the structure is to mirror the Foundation's. Consejo -> Council, Bishops -> Regional Command, Frays -> Site Directors, Captains -> MTF, Custodians -> Containment Specialists. I want to highlight how they use superstition and belief instead of science in their containment, and (while not my main goal) I want to show how this leads to a lot of fuckups. Maybe not too much, cause I feel like a blend of science and belief works too. Maybe I could highlight this with a specific SCP? Buscadores contain it via belief, doesn't work. Centuries later, the Foundation tries science, also doesn't work. Then they try a blend, and it works.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Buscadores de Dios en Nueva España Hub

None of this is important to the article. Just stuff I wanted to jolt down incase I or someone else wants to use the Consulate in the future:

Similar setting to Ad Astra Per Aspera, space opera with a forgotten birthplace. Earth was abandoned at some point in the 24th century, along with a majority of information from before then.

An overwhelming amount of rogue AIs invaded Earth's internet, rendering it unusable and dangerous. Due to advancements in how humans interface with the internet, even entering Earth's atmosphere is enough of a risk. As such, humanity left it behind. The lost of the internet and the hasty departure from Earth is what results in much of the information on humanity's past being lost. A very, very small snippet of the internet and some of Earth's records are saved and brought off-planet, but not enough. Attempts have been made to return to Earth to recover more, but many of these missions end in death.

Earth is evacuated, AI is unheard of, and the past is lost. Humanity now mainly lives on Mars and several of the gas giants' moons. The successor of the Foundation still works to keep the anomalous contained, even if the definition of Normalcy has shifted drastically.

Speaking of, the SCP Consulate. A future version of the Foundation from this setting. A consulate is the office of a consul, a sort of diplomat. After leaving Earth, members of the Foundation feel like they have lost their… well, foundation. Humanity is a foreigner in the cosmos, a refugee from a lost land. As such, the Foundation renamed itself to the Consulate, wishing to represent humanity in this future. They also wish to one day regain control of Earth and move humanity back to it. As such, asides from containing anomalies, their primary goal is the restoration and gathering of information from humanity's past.

The Department of Pre-Modernity is the main way the Consulate does this. They study and record what remains of Earth's past. When the old Foundation left Earth, they managed to save a small snippet of information. Heavily corrupted and unorganized, but existing nonetheless.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Record from the Stars

Last week I went on a date with someone who had the pulsar map from the Golden Record tattooed on her arm. I've had this idea stuck in my head since then.

The name for the star, 少衛 (Shǎowèi), comes from Chinese astronomy. In it, Alpha Camelopardalis is called 紫微右垣六, which represents 少衛 (Shǎowèi), or the Second Imperial Guard.

Thank you, as always, to my amazing critters:

The Frodmaer Club

SCP-9093 - RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE!

LocalMemeHobo

SCP-8387 - Let's Change the Stage!

vilsolad

arcadia-s-offensive-joke

chaoticuniverse

Aazzer

thagthedestroyer

Sparkyxcs

Epirus

The_BritishGoose

Gatzie

Suggested Tags:

_image _licensebox _top auditory cognitohazard empathic euclid extraterrestrial scp transmission

Alternatively, it could also be acoustic instead of auditory.
cure story is too generic. Change start so the bugs start at ento dept and they're all sad and shit. They try everything to make them happy, but they're moppy and tired of just blowing up the same stuff. Enter AWD. They offer to give the bugs more opportunities to blow more stuff up. Bug nerds are against it until Shing, their former coworker convinces them it's a good idea

list pages maybe??? P1 bug, P2 emails, P3 AWD

P1: Conprocs, Desc., Discovery. Addendum with log of exploded materials and notes (bugs look sadder/explosions aren't as big towards the end), last interview where they're super depressed

P2: Emails back and forth with Jimmy and Bug nerds. Jimmy eventually adds Shing to the email chain, who appends an interview with Hayk and convinces them to let the bugs move to Area-34

P3: New AWD file, different conprocs, same description, field test log where the bugs are happily blowing a building up

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: 「トリプルバグアタック」

Some questions I had in mind for critters:

1. Does the final log work? Is it funny enough? Am I doing a good enough job of conveying how mad Dir. Day is?
2. Is the joke with the doctor's name worth it?
3. Should I build up the evilness of the evil island more?
4. Is the middle section of the draft okay? I feel like I didnt give it enough love in comparison to everything else.
5. Follow-up from the last question, is that mission log a good read? Is it too boring?
6. Does the image for the evil skull work?

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: evil island that turns you into a cyborg

Current SCP protocols have proven unable to fully contain SCP-238. All exploration of SCP-238 is suspended until full, sustained containment has been achieved. Any and all personnel attempting to enter SCP-238 are to be physically restrained and moved to an outside containment area. Upkeep of the current barrier is top priority, and a minimum of two personnel are to be present at all times for upkeep and security.

No testing, samples, or exploration may be conducted within SCP-238 until full containment of SCP-238 has been achieved, or with approval by Site Overwatch. Any and all persons entering are to be deemed missing, presumed dead.

Description: SCP-238 is an enormous underground facility, with a single entrance on the island Shmidta to the extreme north of Russia. Tunnel networks have been shown to extend for thousands of kilometers, with major "Junctions" under [DATA EXPUNGED]. "Oceanic Junctions" have also been observed to include several connections to [DATA EXPUNGED]. When originally found, the entrance was sealed behind a massive wall of bricks, covered in carvings. This wall was removed, and exploration began. Initial tests showed that the walls of SCP-238 were primarily fossilized tissue of unknown origin. Several structures within the facility led initial exploration teams to conclude that SCP-238 is or was at least half biological.

Shortly after discovery of a central chamber, reported to consist of partially rotted flesh and badly decayed metal structures, personnel began to disappear, and numerous accidents claimed eight lives. "Noises" and other hallucinations were reported, along with ████████, and other [DATA EXPUNGED].

Eight containment walls and associated personnel were destroyed by unknown means, with a survivor reporting "███████ ███████" (unconfirmed), in addition to rapidly escalating aggressive phenomenon by SCP-238. Replacement of the original wall has contained the item effectively, but new SCP containment and research strategies have been requested, as the current containment prevents in-depth exploration and experimentation.

Addendum 238-S7:

Upon the escape of six juvenile instances of SCP-1013, the local SCP Team assigned to SCP-238 reported SCP-1013 squeezing through the original wall and entering the underground chambers. After O5-█, O5-█, O5-█, Dr. ██████, and Dr. ██████████ were notified, they elected to send in a single team to retrieve SCP-1013. Further information regarding the expedition is found in document 238-S7-A, with clearance level three (3) required. The end result of the retrieval team were six dead, two critically injured, one missing in action, and the six juvenile SCP-1013 instances being re-captured. Further research into SCP-238 will be carried out by Dr. ████ and his research staff, under SCP supervision.

Document 238-S7-A: Audio log of retrieval of SCP-1013

<Begin.
should 9k be the basis of reality, or at least earths reality? it feels a bit too telegraphed, but its an X000 so it needs some importance… it would also give more weight to the collapse events. maybe instead of the target location getting sinkhole'd, the reality around it would collapse and get wiped out? the severity of this would explain why AWD really wants to weaponize it, and why the Foundation is so anti-[9k exploration] in the present. after AWD starts fucking w/ 9k, 9k starts targetting Foundation and civilian sites by itself. maybe I can make up a fake country that got crunched? and the collapse event was so powerful that they got wiped from the timeline?

oh my god Tartessos!!! been wanting to include them. maybe they survived to be a full-fledged country on the southern Iberian peninsula, taking up parts of normal Spain and Portugal. maybe 9k targets them because they were a major ally of the Foundation, and the collapse event is so strong it results in them 1) no longer existing in the present day and 2) never making it past the city level in ancient history. yes, yes….

+ the removal of Tartessos can be used to explain how obscure the founding of the Foundation actually is. Tartessos could've been a major player in the formation of the Foundation, and its removal from history ruins any records and memories of these early years (like a scratched disc)

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Gears

outline

Cold War tensions are rising. Both the US and USSR are pressuring the Foundation to support them, and threaten to act on Foundation facilities built in their territories if they don't. Wishing to remain mostly neutral, the Foundation seeks to find a way to protect their facilities from these threats while still maintaining their presence in the area. Thus, Project NEWHOME.

SCP-9000 is the first major opportunity for NEWHOME. Originally discovered earlier in the Foundation's history, it was only recently discovered that it actually spans the whole globe. NEWHOME begins exploration of SCP-9000. However, since the expeditions are deployed from Site-XX, AWD begins to hijack these attempts, wanting to weaponize SCP-9000. After the discovery of collapse events, AWD kicks it into highgear, wanting to learn how to trigger these events to use them against their enemies. They start with small tests like a shed here and there. But once they confirm they can trigger these events, they go crazy and start collapsing bigger things, like Chaos Insurgency and GRU-P bases. This quickly backfires. SCP-9000 isn't exactly alive or sentient, but it responds to stimuli. And it doesn't like the stimuli from these triggered collapse events. So SCP-9000 starts collapsing Foundation sites. Like AWD it starts small, an Outpost here and there, until it goes crazy and takes Tartessos. after Tartessos falls the Foundation scrambles to get out of 9000. The NEWHOME colonization process had been going exceedingly well, but AWD's mishaps ruined it.

Tartessos is a good climax, I'm just missing a decent falling action and conclusion. Hmmm…

I guess the falling action could just be the Foundation pulling out of 9k and plugging it up. The conclusion is what's tricky. This is still super early in AWD's history, so having them get got wouldn't make sense for the story I'm telling in the present day. Well, maybe. Them getting handicapped back in the 60s and bouncing back from it successfully could work. (Dir. Day: "We've been on the brink before. We've clawed back, and we'll do it again!")

so i can just end with something saying the AWD got a budget cut for all this and some of its staff terminated. but that's already kinda a cliche for AWD… ok maybe not. I want Ezra's era of AWD to be specially bad when it comes to stuff like this. And having something else like this in a different era of AWD would muddle it some. Especially if it's Lunden's era, cause his is supposed to be a golden start. So maybe another conclusion is needed.

Forum category: Hidden / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Gears
