ADDENDUM.XXXX.5

WEAPONIZATION

The Department of Anomalous Weapons Development flagged SCP-XXXX for potential tactical applications. Preliminary design indicated that SCP-XXXX could be successfully applied for use within Armed Mobile Task Forces for controlled demolitions, ordinance disposal, and limited anti-armor operations. Following transfer to Area-34, Dr. Vivian Shing was assigned as SCP-XXXX's Project Lead.

Interview Log

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-A, -B, -C

Interviewer: Dr. Akabi Hayk, Dr. Vivian Shing

Date: 07/23/2025

[BEGIN LOG]

SCP-XXXX-A: Doc, you're back! So about what we were talking about… Can we blow up this room?

Dr. Akabi Hayk: No. But, you might have some opportunities to blow up other things. Viv here has some news to share with you.

Dr. Vivian Shing: Hey, you three. Wow, you guys are cute. How would you feel about being… Hmm, trying to think how to word this right… official Foundation contractors?

SCP-XXXX-A: Official? Like, with badges?

SCP-XXXX-B: Do we get stickers?

Dr. Shing: Stickers and so much more. We give you regulated detonation time, supervised enrichment, and — if everything goes well — limited field work.

SCP-XXXX-A: Oooh. Field work… Like a field trip?

SCP-XXXX-C: Do we get a vehicle?

SCP-XXXX-B: Can we blow up the vehicle?

Dr. Shing: No blowing of personnel transport. But you will get targets. Old facilities, hostile targets, stuff we need gone.

SCP-XXXX-C: So we get to blow cool stuff up? [pause] Pinky promise?

Dr. Shing: Emm, yeah. Pinky promise!

SCP-XXXX-A: You got yourself a deal, Boss Boom!

Dr. Shing: Boss Boom?

Dr. Hayk: We'll have to have regular psych evals with the three of you to make sure you're up to the task. AWD will draft out the weaponization procedures for you. Hopefully we'll have you ready for field tests within the month. For the record, do you understand what AWD intends to do with you?

SCP-XXXX-B: Demolitions. Entertainment! Blowing stuff up! This is gonna be awesome!

[SCP-XXXX-A, -B, and -C begin rolling around in synchronized circles.]

ADDENDUM.XXXX.6

TEST RUNS

On 12/13/2025, Mobile Task Force Iota-27 ("Big Sticks") located and raided a GoI-003 ("Chaos Insurgency") warehouse in Managua, Nicaragua. The raid was a success, with GoI operations being shut down. Several nonimportant objects from the raid were marked for decommissioning. Dr. Shing was given permission to oversee the decommissioning of these objects with the aid of SCP-XXXX.

Log 1

Subject: Jeep outfitted with a nonfunctional supermaterial launcher.
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances successfully detonated.
Note: Heard the little guys laughing after they reformed! The explosion was really cool, the supermaterials gave it a nice purple color.

Log 2

Subject: Insurgency-modified Foundation MTF uniforms
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances successfully detonated several times.
Note: Took a couple of tries to destroy these outfits. The bugs liked the challenge!

Log 5

Subject: A non-active Sigil machine
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances declined to detonate.
Note: There was some residiual E.V.E in the machine, and I think that scared them off. Can't blame them.

Log 8

Subject: A mecha
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully.
Note: They were hesitant at first, cause they thought it was a living thing, but after I showed it was just a hunk of metal they got to work!

Log 12

Subject: A heavily-modified Scranton Reality Disruptor
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully. SCP-XXXX declined to detonate. SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully. SCP-XXXX instances declined to detonate. SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully. SCP-XXXX instances… [TRUNCATED]
Note: Can we make sure these CI objects are actually harmless before we give them to the bugs? I don't wanna hurt the little guys.

Log 17

Subject: A frog
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully several times.
Note: Not part of the detonation list, the poor guy just wandered onto the site and the bugs got to work! Frogs eat pillbugs out in nature, so I think they were getting some revenge.

Log 24

Subject: Chaos Insurgency drone swarm (36; inactive)
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances detonated each drone one by one.
Note: This one took forever, but they were having fun! I didn't really notice any differences in the explosions, but according to them they were using different techniques each time.

Log 27

Subject: Chaos Insurgency server stack
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances requested personnel leave the area before they detonated.
Note: When we came back, I asked why they wanted us to leave. They said they didn't want to hurt our ears; the explosion was pretty loud. How considerate of them.

Log 31

Subject: Damaged Insurgency armed personnel carrier (APC)
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances breached the chasis, but declined to continue decommissioning.
Note: They refused to continue, so we checked what was up. Turns out two cats had hitched a ride in the APC's engine! They were a bit shaken up by the first explosion, but we were able to get them out of the vehicle before we blew the rest of it up.

Log 36

Subject: Improvised anomalous mortar tube (non-functional)
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances approached the device but declined to detonate, citing a "weird feeling."
Note: We scanned it, and there was some residual E.V.E left. Seems they're pretty sensitive to the stuff, but it shouldn't really harm them? We'll just have to screen the objects before handing them to them.

Log 40

Subject: Chaos Insurgency supply truck
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully, with the resulting explosion having a notable purple-white coloration. Upon remateralization, SCP-XXXX were laughing and floating. A subsequent detonation and remateralization negated this secondary effect. Spectrometry revealed trace anomalous materials in the truck's bed.
Note: They had fun with this one! They asked for another truck, but I think that's the only one we got. Good to know that they're not adverse to all anomalous materials.

Log 45

Subject: Prototype-2632.A prototype developed by AWD, a vacuum modified to capture ectoplasm and convert it into explosive material. The design was shelved following issues converting ectoplasm into any solid material.
Outcome: SCP-XXXX instances detonated successfully. The explosion resulted in ectoplasm being slung around the chamber, covering almost every surface in a thin layer of the material.
Note: Despite how messy it was, I'd call it a success! Director Day joined us for this one, and he agrees with me. He seemed pretty excited. But, if you'd excuse me, I gotta go figure out how to get ghost goo out of my hair.

Following 72 logs, the use of SCP-XXXX in decommissioning both Foundation and non-Foundation paraweaponry was deemed a success.

INTERVIEW LOG

Interview Log

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-A, -B, -C

Interviewer: Director Jimmy Day, Dr. Vivian Shing

Date: 07/30/2025

[BEGIN LOG]

SCP-XXXX-A: Hey, Boss Boom! You bring us something fun?

SCP-XXXX-B

A pillbug stuck on its back.

Boomy taking a break after a long day!

Dr. Vivian Shing: In a way. This is my own boss. He was at a couple of those demolitions and wanted to have a talk with you three.

SCP-XXXX-C: [groans] Talking is less fun than exploding.

SCP-XXXX-B: Way less fun.

Director Jimmy Day: It'll be quick, I promise.

Director Day: I've been reviewing the decommissioning logs we have with you, and I'm impressed. There weren't really that many complications, and almost all of them were pretty clean.

SCP-XXXX-A: We're good!

SCP-XXXX-C: Practicing our whole life!

Director Day: Which is why I'm proposing a promotion for the three of you.

SCP-XXXX-A: Promotion?

Directory Day: We would move you from doing just decommissionings to being active field operatives. You'd be deployed alongside our men in real-time missions against live targets.

SCP-XXXX-B: Like… real missions?

Directory Day: Exactly.

SCP-XXXX-C: Oh—

SCP-XXXX-A: Wait.

[The three instances cluster together, whispering amongst themselves. After 4 seconds, they turn their attention back to Dr. Shing and Director Day.]

SCP-XXXX-A: We have questions.

Dr. Shing: Go for it.

SCP-XXXX-A: Do we still get to pick our targets sometimes?

Director Day: No. Targets would be strictly based on mission parameters.

SCP-XXXX-B: Do we still get practice runs?

Director Day: Very limited ones. Most of what you'd be doing would be in the field.

SCP-XXXX-C: Do we still get to boom… safely?

Director Day: You'd be operating in environments we wouldn't be able to control. A fair bit of them would probably be hostile.

SCP-XXXX-B: That sounds… not as fun.

SCP-XXXX-A: Yeah. We like the way it is now.

SCP-XXXX-C: We get cool stuff. We get to make cool explosions.

SCP-XXXX-B: And nobody's yelling or shooting at us.

SCP-XXXX-C: I don't want to blow anyone up either!

Director Day: Why not just give it a shot? You'd be helping us a lot.

SCP-XXXX-A: I thought we already are?

SCP-XXXX-C: You bring us dangerous stuff, we make it not dangerous.

SCP-XXXX-B: That's important work!

Dr. Shing: [quietly] They're not wrong.

[Director Day turns momentarily to Dr. Shing before turning back to the SCP-XXXX instances.]

Director Day: To be clear, you're declining the offer?

SCP-XXXX-A: Yeah.

SCP-XXXX-B: Respectfully.

SCP-XXXX-C: So much respect.

[Another pause.]

Director Day: Understood. Vivian, a word?

Dr. Shing: Oh, um, yeah.

[Director Day and Dr. Shing leave SCP-XXXX's containment chamber. A muffled conversation can be heard.]

Director Day: You didn't back me.

Dr. Shing: But I didn't undermine you.

Director Day: You let them say no.

Dr. Shing: They're not equipment, Director. Their living, thinking things. Their cooperation is conditional. I think we ought to be happy with them helping us at all.

Director Day: You've seen the reports, you wrote them yourself. They're good at what they do. Up to par with a lot of what we've produced ourselves.

Dr. Shing: Yeah, in controlled environments. With targets they understand.

Director Day: We can train them for the field.

Dr. Shing: Training won't change their opinion.

Director Day: We wouldn't be asking them to do anything they're not already.

Dr. Shing: Yes, we are. Right now, they neutralize inert objects. Everything's controlled, there's little chance for them to get hurt.

Director Day: You think they can't handle it?

Dr. Shing: They could. But I don't think they want to.

Director Day: That hasn't been an issue for AWD in the past.

Dr. Shing: Yeah, in the past.

[Pause. Ambient HVAC noise fills the gap.]

Dr. Shing: They refuse targets already. You've seen it. High EVE concentrations, living targets. They're sensitive, like every other living thing. They're happy where they are now.

Director Day: You're arguing we waste an asset because it's… comfortable?

Dr. Shing: I'm arguing we don't break a system that works.

Director Day: It could work better.

Dr. Shing: They could stop working.

Director Day: You're confident of that?

Dr. Shing: I'm confident that if we push them into situations they don't understand or enjoy, they'll stop cooperating.

Director Day: …Fine.

[The pair reenter the chamber. Director Day looks exasperated, while Dr. Shing has a smile on her face.]

Director Day: So… you three would rather stay on decommissioning?

SCP-XXXX-A: Yes, please!

Director Day: [sigh] Alright. But I'll keep field deployment on the table. In case you three change your mind.

SCP-XXXX-B: We'll think about it!

SCP-XXXX-C: Probably not!
