Artistic Rendering of SCP-XXXX
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES
As SCP-XXXX occurred prior to the creation of the Foundation, containment efforts are focused on the suppression and discrediting of information regarding the event.
Accounts and descriptions of SCP-XXXX available to the public are to be described as fictitious and/or religious writing, rather than historical documents. Archaeological expeditions made to areas where pre-XXXX civilizations are known to have existed are to be closely monitored by Foundation plants for possible artefacts connected to these civilizations.
DESCRIPTION
SCP-XXXX refers to an event that occurred around 10,000 BCE. While exact descriptions of SCP-XXXX are unavailable, SCP-XXXX is known to have been a global event that resulted in a sharp decrease of thaumaturgic, ontokinetic, and otherwise anomalous activities.
Hundreds of anomalous artifacts were destroyed during the event, and many anomalous species disappeared over the next several days. An unknown amount of civilizations dependent on occult arts collapsed or were weakened as a direct result of SCP-XXXX.
Many accounts also describe an oneiric effect of the event. Individuals who practiced thaumaturgy or were ontokinetic and asleep during SCP-XXXX all experienced similar dreams. Within the dreams, the individuals would be visited by a masculine figure in an open field. The figure would speak in an unknown language with an urgent tone before reaching into the individual. An item of sentimental significance to the subject would be pulled out and taken away by the figure. Individuals who experienced this dream described feeling empty or violated when they awoke from it.

EFFECTS OF SCP-XXXX
Records indicate that the period of time prior to SCP-XXXX was an anomalously abundant one, with a majority of the technology at the time relying heavily on anomalous artifacts or processes. While anomalous species were still outnumbered by the mundane ones (ratio of 1:3), there were still much more than in the modern era (1:10).
Multiple civilizations, whose infrastructure or source of food was dependent on the anomalous, existed during this time period. While information is scarce, it is known that the majority of the world had been civilized. Despite the vast amount of civilizations during this period, and their wide reach, SCP-XXXX seemingly erased most of their structures. Very few accounts of these civilizations of have recovered, with most that have been found either being recovered from The Wanderers' Library or from collectors' collections.

The following documents have been curated by SCP-XXXX's research team as examples of SCP-XXXX's effects on the human population at the time. Requests to view all documents pertaining to SCP-XXXX can be submitted to the Research Head.
AKILINIQ
The following was an audio recording collected from the estate of Sir Godfrid Deniau, an 18th-century collector of the anomalous. Sir Deniau had acquired a heavily damaged speaking stone dated to 3,000 BCE, which contained the following.

You wish to know of Akiliniq? I'm not sure how much I remember, but I'll try.
It was cold, frigid, [indecipherable], but we made it a paradise. We fought the elements and conquered them. We laughed at [indecipherable] and built upon its grave. The [indecipherable] pride themselves on their boats, but they paled in comparsion to ours. We came down and traded with the rest, connecting them.
[Laughter] You should have seen the children. I helped teach them how to make and sail boats. They were full of life, [indecipherable] without a care in the world. Almost made you forget about the freezing storm outside our walls.

The end? Ah, well… When it hit… No one was prepared…[indecipherable]…—rituals failed, the snow blew in like it owned the pla[indecipherable]ats were our last hope, but th[indecipherable] not enough. I had to ma[indecipherable]d leave them behind…[indecipherable]
Alaska, 1895. Sculptures found in a larger cache of Akiliniqi artifacts. Believed to have been stolen by raiders or taken by refugees. Worn runes from an unknown system are carved on the base of the sculptures. Despite the cold environment it was found in, the sculptures feel warm to the touch.
The following is an excerpt from the journal from Sir Deniau, who underwent an expedition to a site associated with Akiliniq. The location of this site has since been lost, although it is believed to be somewhere in Ellesmere Island. Sir Deniau and his crew never returned from this expedition, with the journal being recovered and kept in The Wanderers' Library.
The great Akilian[sic] civilization! To think that I will finally lay my eyes on lost city of the North. Oh, I cannot wait to see the looks on people's faces when I return with undeniable proof.
