Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be monitored at all times. The area of inital detection has been enclosed and designated Site-12. Personnel are not to excavate below 25 meters. Audio equipment capable of detecting low-frequency signals is to remain active. Recordings are to be logged and reviewed daily.
Personnel reporting ear pressure, vertigo, or auditory hallucinations are to be removed from the site.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a series of low-frequency sounds consistent with, but not identical to, whale vocalizations. SCP-XXXX repeats at irregular intervals. These sounds were detected originating from below ground level at Site-12, located in a landlocked desert with no significant bodies of water. Geological surveys confirm the presence of solid bedrock to a depth exceeding 3km. No cavities or water sources have been identified.
Despite this, triangulation of SCP-XXXX consistently returns depths significantly greater than local geology permits. Recorded values have increased over time, starting at approximately 2,000 meters to over 11,000 meters.
