Special Containment Procedures: SCP-001-1 through SCP-001-36 are kept in separate low-security containment lockers and chambers throughout Site-01. Personnel may access any of these items with permission from the Site-01 Director.
SCP-001-37 is kept framed in the main lobby of Site-01.
Description: SCP-001 is the collective designation for a group of anomalous objects, documents, and mechanical devices. Each item in this collection was either collected or created by Professor A██████ W█████, an English paraengineer and occult researcher active during the mid-to-late 19th century.
Most SCP-001 instances bear Professor W█████'s identifying
signature either engraved directly into the object or appended to accompanying documentation. Numerous items additionally contain dedications addressed to Professor W█████'s wife, Nora W█████.
The majority of SCP-001 materials were recovered following investigations into Professor W█████'s final residence after his death in 1914, though several associated objects had previously entered containment through unrelated acquisitions conducted by Foundation precursor organizations, namely the Royal Society for the Security, Containment, and Protection of Anomalous Artefacts (RSSCPAA).
Surviving correspondence indicated that Professor W█████ maintained contact with multiple engineers, occultists, physicians, thaumaturges, and anomalous persons of interest throughout Europe during the latter half of the 19th century. Several individuals later involved in the cataloguing and storage of SCP-001 materials would subsequently participate in the formation of the Foundation.
