Klaxons blaring awoke the young doctor. Bettan jumped up and fell off his bed, landing with a painful thud on his living quarter's floor. He put on his outfit as he listened to the emergency warning.

HULL BREACH DETECTED IN AWD ENTRANCE WING, OXYGEN SUPPLY DEPLETING. HULL BREACH DETCLECTED IN AWD ENTRANCE WING. OXYGEN SUPPLY…

Bettan scampered for his oxygen mask on his desk, struggling to put it on. Once he finally got it snapped on, he opened the door to his dorm to see Elias running down the hall, in the direction of the AWD wing.

OXYGEN CUT FROM AWD ENTRANCE WING, OXYGEN RESUPPLYING

Bettan, curious to see what caused a breach, ran after Elias, who had stopped at the intersection leading to AWD. He stopped next to the guard and gently slapped his shoulder.

"Yo, Elias, what happen-"

Elias turned Bettan to look down the hallway. Where the AWD wing should've been, there was just a hole. He looked out into the vast space, Venus creeping over the edge of the hole as they orbited around it. Where the corridor would've lead into AWD, there was just broken pipes and shredded metal, as if something had ripped the whole wing off.

Bettan moved to walk towards the end, but before he could take a step a metal hand placed itself on his chest. Athena moved from behind him and towards the hole.

"Careful now, Doctor Bettan. You were not made to withstand the dangers of space."

The trio moved towards the end of the hall as other personnel began to emerge from their dorms to investigate the disturbance. Elias bent down to examine where the floor ended, handling a floating piece of metal.

"Don't seem like it was done magically, at least to my eyes. Looks to be just a regular explosion or cut."

Athena nodded, her robotic arm gripping onto the hallway wall as she peered out at Venus.

"Look. There."

Bettan looked over the edge of the hall, holding on to Athena for support. There, rapidly approaching the Venusian atmosphere, was the remains of the AWD Wing.

"Can you zoom in, Athena?" asked Bettan.

"Already did."

"What do you see?"

Athena held her hand up, projecting a hologram of the zoomed in AWD Wing. There, holding on to the destroyed entrance, was Ezra Everest. In his hands was a small, nondescript tool.

"I'm detecting residual E.V.E. Radiation from the tool in the prisoner's hand."

"So he actually did it…" Bettan turned around to see who was speaking. Director Patterson nodded at Bettan as she looked at Athena's hologram. She kicked a floating piece of metal, watching it drift off into the void.

"We can't let him escape. I doubt he would survive for long on the surface, but we still need him alive. Elias, Athena, you'll be joining the team I'll send after him."

Athena moved to raise her hand in protest, but quickly stopped when Patterson shot her a look.

"No more excuses, Athena. Elias' counterpart here is dangerous, with or without our resources. We'll need all the help we can get."
