CONSUMPTION event beginning over Liverpool, Merseyside, England.

Special Containment Procedures: Due to their visual anomaly, SCP-XXXX instances themselves require little containment. As such, containment efforts are to be directed towards the covering up of CONSUMPTION events, including the spread of disinformation campaigns and the creation of realistic fake appendages.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of large bio-mechanical organisms resembling typical pop culture interpretations of extraterrestrial space-faring vehicles. For unknown reasons, SCP-XXXX instances can only be observed through the usage of thermal imagining. SCP-XXXX instances are capable of communication in several languages via the manipulation of high frequency radio waves. The exact amount of existing SCP-XXXX instances is unknown but there are estimated to be at least 2000 living instances in the solar system.

Roughly every three weeks, a group of between seventeen and nineteen SCP-XXXX instances will gather above a populated area in a circular formation to enact a CONSUMPTION event. The phases of a CONSUMPTION event are described below.

  1. The group of SCP-XXXX instances form a circular formation above a populated area, typically hidden above a layer of dark clouds.
  2. After the circular formation is stabilised, the instances begin to emanate beams of light downwards, illuminating the area they've circled.
  3. After roughly five seconds, all baseline humans and man-made objects in the illuminated radius are torn from the ground and dragged into the sky, out of sight. It should be noted that this does not effect anomalous individuals or objects. This phase occurs slowly over the span anywhere between twenty minutes and four hours.
  4. Once the prior phase is completed, SCP-XXXX instances will stop emanating light.
  5. Ten minutes following the conclusion of the prior phase, blood and deformed inhuman body parts will rain on the area for the same span of time that Phase 3 took.
  6. Upon the conclusion of Phase 5, the SCP-XXXX instances will scatter, going in the opposite direction to the one which they arrived at the location.

SCP-XXXX-EGG

The first known instance of SCP-XXXX originated from a large rock (SCP-XXXX-EGG) that was being held by the Department of Anomalous Weapons Development in 1947. SCP-XXXX-EGG was discovered in a cave in Barbados and was brought to Foundation attention after agents embedded in local law enforcement noted the effect it had on known thaumaturges.

After recovery, SCP-XXXX-EGG was tested and found to be able to absorb E.V.E RadiationE.V.E RadiationAn energy emitted by living things and sapient anomalies that powers thaumaturgy. from the environment and nearby individuals. This resulted in a general feeling of fatigue and an inability to use thaumaturgy in nearby individuals. Seeing a potential for weaponization, SCP-XXXX-EGG was brought to Site-6 — AWD's at-the-time HQ — for experimentation at the request of Dr. Olaf Lunden.

Weapon-XXXX Dossier

Department of Anomalous Weapons Development Design Packet
Compiled by Director Olaf Lunden

Description of Component: Subject is a large stone of unknown composition and origin. Attempts to collect samples from Subject have all failed, due to the Subject's seeming indestructibility. Subject is capable of absorbing E.V.E, rendering thaumaturgy useless.

Potential Use Cases:

  1. [UNUSABLE] - just throw it at people. Reason: Why wouldn't it work?
  2. [UNUSABLE] - chip off pieces of it to shoot at people. Reason: Why wouldn't it work?
  3. [CLEARED] [FAILURE] - try to copy its absorption. Update: Why didn't it work?
  4. [CLEARED] - Keep it stationary, and just use it on captured thaumaturges

Notes on Weapon-XXXX-X:
Notes from the engineer on the final product. This can be specifics on how it was constructed, what it's made from, or how the engineer feels about it. This section should be written with a more casual tone, like sticky notes being shared between colleagues.
